Dr. Aram Adourian is Senior Science Advisor at Flagship Pioneering, a Boston-area firm that conceives, creates, resources, and develops companies to transform human health and sustainability. At Flagship Pioneering, Dr. Adourian focuses on advancing life sciences innovation and company creation within Flagship Labs, the firm’s innovation foundry.
Aram most recently served as Chief Scientific Officer of BG Medicine, a biotechnology company that develops diagnostic solutions to aid in the clinical management of chronic afflictions such as cardiovascular disease and inflammatory disorders. Aram has also served as a senior researcher at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research at MIT, where he developed novel systems and approaches for biomolecular sequencing, analysis and modeling. His career in the life sciences spans two decades, with roles in basic and applied research, and product development and commercialization. He has previously held teaching and research positions at the MIT Center for Genome Research and at Harvard University, and is author or co-author of over 30 peer-reviewed publications and inventor on numerous patents. Dr. Adourian earned his Ph.D. at Harvard University in physics and studied biophysics and mathematics at Cornell University.
